krylov® opens a Dubai AI studio for MENA founders

Why we opened a second studio in Dubai to build AI products with MENA founders — what we will ship from DIFC, who is joining, and how the model compresses the build cycle.

krylov® Dubai studio — AI product team at DIFC

For three years we shipped product from one timezone. It worked — until half of the founders we now partner with started building out of Dubai, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi. Shipping AI products fast with them meant a two-hour overlap and a lot of late-night calls. So we did the obvious thing and opened a second studio on the ground in Dubai.

Why Dubai for an AI product studio

Dubai is where the capital, the ambition and the regulatory clarity meet. Between the Dubai Future District Fund, AstroLabs, the DIFC Innovation Hub and the Hub71 bridge from Abu Dhabi, there is more money chasing seed and Series A AI companies than we have ever seen in the region. Founders have stopped asking whether to build — they ask how fast.

First week on the ground — stand-up at the new DIFC space.

The satellite studio gives us a physical room in DIFC, a working day that overlaps cleanly with London and Singapore, and a license to hire locally — half engineers, a quarter designers, a quarter commercial.

What we will ship from the Dubai studio

Same playbook as the main studio: research, MVP in two weeks, scale on a retainer. The difference is the clients. MENA companies move fast on distribution and slow on engineering hires — exactly the gap our model closes. Expect the first year to be heavy on AI agents, marketplace tooling and Arabic-first content systems.

Research walls and sprint boards are the unglamorous half of a studio, and the half that decides whether a two-week build lands. We rebuilt ours in DIFC before taking the first brief.

The room itself is deliberately plain — whiteboards on two walls, one long table, no private offices. Anything that matters is readable from any seat.

How the Dubai studio works day to day

Discovery goes on the wall, decisions go on the board, and the build happens in the open next to both. The reel below is forty-five seconds of that, filmed in the main studio.

The studio reel — forty-five seconds on how we actually work.

The founding Dubai team

We are starting with four people — two senior engineers relocated from the main studio, a product designer we had been working with as a contractor, and a local operations lead who already knows the DIFC ecosystem cold. Public hiring opens next month.

What is next

Discovery is already running for two Dubai-based AI companies and one Riyadh-based marketplace. If you are building something in MENA and want a studio model that ships in weeks, not quarters — write to us. The door is open.

More builds from the shelf.

Same team, different problems. Recent cases in adjacent industries — each shipped with the senior people who own outcomes.
